FREE ADMISSION ON HONOREE DAY FOR SENIORS 70 AND OVER AT THE Portland Classical Chinese Garden

Portland, Ore. – On Saturday, May 7th, the Portland Classical Chinese Garden welcomes all seniors age 70 and over with a free admission to celebrate Honoree Day as part of Asian Heritage month. Performing will be the Chinese opera group from the Asian Health and Service Center. The calligraphers from the Asian Health and Service Center will write your name in Chinese characters for free in the Garden’s Lounge House. Activities will take place between 12:30pm to 2:00pm.
In the Courtyard of Tranquility, the Garden will feature tree peonies for sale from 10am to 4pm. Rick Rogers from Brothers Herb and Peonies will be on hand to answer your questions and help you with selection.
Famed visiting Chinese calligrapher Hua Rende’s work will be displayed in the Scholar’s Study. Hua Rende and curator Ian Boyden will offer a lecture and demonstration at 11:00am May 7th.  For this event registration is required. Call the Garden at 503-228-8131.
All events are free with the price of admission. The Portland Classical Chinese Garden is located at Northwest Third and Everett off the OldTown/Chinatown MAX stop.
