Lake Zither to be Repaired

Portland, Ore.- The Portland Classical Chinese Garden lake will be repaired by A.C. Schommer & Sons, Inc. under an agreement with the City of Portland. Repairs will take place following the Garden's Year of the Monkey, Chinese New Year celebration running now through the Lantern Festival on February 7th. Family weekend activities associated with the traditional Chinese New Year will be free with the price of admission. On SUPER BOWL SUNDAY, February 1st, the Garden offers BRING A PARENT FREE DAY. The LION DANCE will be at 1:30pm on that day. The Garden will close on Monday, February 9th to undergo repair of its 8,000 sq.ft. pond.
The gift shop and plant sale will remain open during the closure.

The Portland Classical Chinese Garden is operated by a non-profit organization whose mission is to cultivate an oasis of tranquil beauty and harmony, to inspire, engage and educate all who visit.. Built by artisans from Portland's sister city, Suzhou, China, the Garden enjoys over 4,000 members and has been visited by over 550,000 visitors since opening in September 2000. The Garden is open daily from 10am to 5pm. Tours are available at noon and 1 pm daily. For more information, call 503-228-8131.
